Release Date: August 27, 2000
Version Info: RMDB3 - Version 3.1f/RMADM3 - Version 3.1f

The RMDB3 and RMADM3 scripts have been written based on scripts originally written by Adam Bayless and Doug Schubert which can be found at Mission Net Developers Site. The intent of these scripts is to provide a simple database that can be utilized by other mission page maintainers allowing each to customize various aspects of their database pages. The databases themselves are nothing more than ASCII - delimited files and require no special database engine to implement. There are no index files required either and this allows for more search capabilities but also requires that databases generally stay small in the number of records that they contain. Lists with more than two to three thousand alumni registered should look more at using a real database (however, most mission pages would not find this to be a problem - this type of database is ideally suited for mission pages.)

The RMADM3 script is used by the mission page administrator to maintain the language, presidents and settings databases as well as delete records from the main alumni database and mark user email accounts as bad. The settings database is used to determine colors tables will use, graphics that will be displayed, and other switches the administrator can turn on and off. The script will also provide the administrator with the ability to send e-mail messages to alumni groups (all alumni, alumni serving under a particular mission president, or alumni serving in a particular mission). The RMADM3 script is accessed through a master admin password that is defined in the script itself.

The scripts are available to download below at no cost to other mission page maintainers only. They have been used in a Unix environment but should run under other environments with minor modifications. In order to be able to run the scripts, you must have cgi-bin access through your provider (NOTE: cgiwrap will also work).

To see a working copy of the script and the database click on the link below. Feel free to play around with it and add or change whatever information and settings that you would like to. The administrator password is mission (It is also displayed on the Admin Login screen in case you forget).

If you would like me to setup your database for you (when I can), click on the button below and fill out the needed information.
